Daystar Cleaning & Restoration is family owned and operated, dedicated to delivering valued and quality services, empowering consumers with education, building client relationships with integrity, and providing cutting-edge technology and products for clients who demand an outstanding service experience.

Steve and Judy Ransom launched Daystar Janitorial Services in Birmingham, AL in 1983. After vacationing on the beautiful white sands of Panama City Beach, they decided to sell their business, moved to the emerald coast, and started Daystar Cleaning, Inc. in 1986. All their children grew up working in the business, and Matthew now manages Restoration Services.

Steve and Judy have participated in many business education, management, and certification programs, and believe in empowering their employees with education, customer service training, safety training, and certifications to deliver the kind of exceptional service Daystar clients have come to expect.

Daystar Cleaning, Inc. is a certified firm of the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), as recommended by nationally syndicated radio personality Clark Howard. Steve Ransom is a state certified Mold Remediator, and holds IICRC certifications including Master Fire Restorer, Water Damage Restoration, Applied Structural Drying, Commercial Drying, Carpet Cleaning, Upholstery Cleaning, and Odor Removal.

Steve is a long-standing member of the Panama City Beach Rotary, has hosted international guests in the Rotary Group Study Exchange program, helps raise funds for local charities, and was awarded the coveted Paul Harris Fellow Award.

Steve and Judy have been involved in helping the mentor program grow at New Horizons Learning Center, Bay County’s second-chance middle/high school for at-risk youth, and both mentor students there. Steve also serves as a big brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida.

In 2004, Judy entered Daystar in the “Better Your Best” competition, sponsored by Joe Polish and Piranha Marketing. The contest focused on implementation of marketing and business skills, financials, personal reflection and accomplishments. A comparison was presented to show how the company had grown and improved over the previous year. Daystar and Judy were chosen as the number one company by the panel of judges and was awarded a new Corvette Coupe, and the title of Ambassador & Spokesperson in the cleaning & restoration industry for Piranha Marketing that year. Steve and Judy traveled around the country, as well as to Great Britain, speaking at marketing and business events and helping other business owners improve their companies.
